The “Haramizu Station” (Japanese: 原水駅/はらみずえき) is a station located in Kikuyō Town, Kikuchi District, Kumamoto Prefecture. It is an unmanned station on the “Hōhi Main Line” operated by JR Kyūshū, with two side platforms serving two tracks.

Kikuyō Town is known for its local specialty, radishes, hence there is a radish symbol on the station sign. The area around Haramizu Station was once wasteland, and locals developed irrigation channels here to cultivate farmland, hence the name “Haramizu” meaning “water in the wilderness.” Now, there is a TSMC Kumamoto Factory and many other semiconductor related companies near the station.

I stopped by this station in March during my visit to a friend.
